We are required to cover all areas of the West Australian Curriculum. The delivery of these curriculums can look very different to a mainstream classroom.
On-air
Our air-lessons are Literacy, Numeracy, Digital Technologies and Health.
Literacy and Numeracy sessions are held four-times a week, for Pre-Primary to Year 6 students. Programs for these are written by the classroom teacher, and emailed to the Home Tutor weekly.
Digital Technologies and Health lessons are held once a week, for students in PP-Year 6. These programmes are written by the specialist teacher and can be sent to the Home Tutor at the beginning of each term.
Kindy air-lessons are held four-times a week, and will include focuses from EYLF and Kindergarten Guidelines. Kindy programs are written by the classroom teacher, and emailed to the Home Tutor weekly.
Languages is delivered and reported on via SIDE.
Off-air
Our off-air lessons are HASS, Science, PE and The Arts.
Purposefully written units of work (Project) have been compiled in conjunction with KSOTA’s curriculum writer. These four curriculum areas are integrated and are to be delivered off-air by the Home Tutor following the project lesson notes KSOTA has provided. Students and Home Tutors are expected to report back on progress in the Project through returning work samples and evidence of engagement.
